Day 12 - Shinagawa 品川, Tokyo

Having Shinkansen'd (bullet-train'd) our way back up the island to Tokyo; we stayed for a few nights in a 'ward' of Tokyo called Shinagawa 品川.

We chose to stay in Shinagawa as it was fairly easy to commute in/out of Shinjuku station (the largest & busiest Station in Japan) and would be another area of Tokyo to soak up our Nihon experience.

From what we could see as we walked around the town (several times) attempting to locate our hotel - was that Shinagawa is mainly a City of Corporate buildings, offices and Hotels which contained the name "Prince" pre-fixed to it. After circling Shinagawa Station and happening upon the massive yet sursprisingly non-impressive Sony Headquarters We managed to reach our destination : the 'Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa'... having nearly just tried to check into two other nearby hotels with the name 'Prince' in the title... a very easy mistake to make!! :)

  1. We stayed at the [not Grand] Prince Hotel... you probably tried to check into it by mistake! :-)
