Day 10 - Himeji Castle, Himeji 姫路 (Kansai Region)

It's a long long way from Hiroshima back to Tokyo so we opted to break the journey at Himeji. We wanted to go to Himeji from Kyoto or Osaka but opted to go to Osaka Castle instead.

The first thing to greet us int eh station was a model of Himeji castle. We were getting tired of castles by now but though it would be worth seeing one more while we had the opportunity. Off we strode then up the road to the castle with Dave now indulging in a new penchant for pictures of people instead of scenery.

The castle looked quite grand from a the model and when we were in the nearby park but unfortunately the main tower of the castle was closed so there wasn't much to look around and we had time to kill. Still we had a wander around the grounds (taking care about the foot at all times) and the few buildings that were open and even managed to fit in a picture of Dave himself.

Castle dutifully seen we walked back to the station.
